Yet another one is upon us, making for an opportunity to spend quality time with family and friends. Hereâs a look at a few of the more touching conversations I have in a typical weekend: My Dad: Hey, did you see that that AI chipmaker had a total â
Me: NOT NOW, DAD, ITâS A HOLIDAY WEEKEND. My friend: Ha ha, look at this hilarious response I just got from [ChatGPT]( when I asked â
Me: ABSOLUTELY NOT. YOU KNOW THE RULES, NO [ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE]( TALK ON DAYS OFF. Yes. I yelled. Iâm big into boundaries. But thatâs the thing about working in an industry that was previously a nerd niche but has, over time, integrated itself into the pop culture vernacular. You have to talk about work on your days off, because your work has become a part of daily life. Thatâs one reason I was so surprised that [58% of the U.S. adult population knows ChatGPT, but only 14% have interacted with it](. Maybe itâs just the circles I run in (fellow nerds), but when I first saw Matt Southernâs article about this, 58% seemed like a surprisingly low number. But then I remembered that [ChatGPT]( only became available six months ago. And when you historically look at the public adaptation curve of (newish) technologies, well â yowza. Thatâs a somewhat impressive number to reach in that period. No wonder thereâs such a clamor to join the [generative AI]( ranks. To be among the elite few (or many, I suppose) providing an immersively intelligent and interactive information-gathering experience. Looking back at some of what my teamâs been working on over the past few months, itâs clear: Weâre sitting at the pop-culturally relevant table now, folks. And so, without further ado: Letâs celebrate our ranks as newly-minted cool kids with some equally cool articles. - Kristi Hines recently took us on a tour of [Googleâs Search Generative Experience (SGE)](.
- She also had a chance to break down a recent explainer on [how Instagramâs algorithm works](.
- Finally, Roger Montti tells us the story of [how Wix is changing the business of building websites](. We did it. We made it to Friday. May your weekends be cool, and the conversation even cooler. As it adds an extra layer of complexity when building your website, itâs recommended to implement hydration, static rendering, or server-side rendering instead. Dynamic rendering exists to correct web pages that don't show up on search engine results pages, but weâd always recommend server-side rendering. After all, itâs easier to maintain with only one version of a website and more time-efficient as you donât have to verify if the versions for users and Googlebot are identical. Once youâve weighed up your development resources and technology capabilities, look for opportunities to switch to server-side rendering, so all user agents receive the same content. In addition to explaining ranking, it contains more information about shadowbanning and best practices for growing an Instagram audience. The following is an update to the original video about the Instagram algorithm from 2021. The first point Mosseri makes is that the Instagram algorithm is not one algorithm but rather many algorithms and processes that work together to personalize the content each Instagram user sees. Because each individual is different, each Instagram user should see content that matches their interests. This is what Instagram hopes to achieve through ranking - a personalized experience that keeps users engaged with the Instagram platform for more extended periods of time.
