For many of us, that’s when we finally have time to think. And think. And think some more. I was thinking about how we interact with technology. Not only that, but how much that interaction has changed everything we do. The way we find information. The way we make plans. Hell, even the way we fall in love has been shaped and shifted by technology. Evolution is a heck of a thing. Naturally, my thoughts included this: How is generative AI going to change us next? Some might say that many of the tools and tech available to us have made us a bit less … patient than we used to be. My own Dad, for instance, loves to remind me that I’m part of what he calls “the instant gratification generation.” But now that Generative AI chatbots have further simplified that instant access to nearly anything we want to know – with one answer, rather than a SERP, for instance – and the accuracy of that information is often, at best, dubious and unattributable … what happens next? How do our brains evolve from there? I have to wonder if this phenomenon will enter the chat (see what I did there?) on policy-setting around Generative AI – especially given global regulators’ cries of safety concerns. (Our very own Kristi Hines, by the way, wrote an excellent summary of these various global woes facing this technology [here]( I could go on and on, but nobody has time for that. [Take Our Survey Today!]( Content Trends, SEO [7 Content Writing Trends For 2023]( By Ron Lieback It’s no secret that brands have leveraged A.I. marketing for years and probably even limited the usage of A.I.-generated content. While Google has stated that A.I.-generated content meant to manipulate search results constitutes spam, it has also stated that the “appropriate use” of A.I. to assist content is not against its guidelines. As technology advances, the need to balance the impulse to supplement too much of our workflow with A.I. and to keep our writing organic will be difficult. Nevertheless, users and search engines prefer creative and organic content over A.I. [Read Now...]( News, Tools [GA4 Update: “Once Per Session” Conversion Counting Method]( By Matt G. This is achieved by using large data sets that train the parameters in the model. Perhaps the most well-known examples of machine learning currently are ChatG.P.T. and BARD – and while this post won’t be focusing on them, I decided to ask them both to explain to me what machine learning is. However, understanding how machine learning works in search (and in real life) can only work to your advantage as an S.E.O. pro – whether you're technical or not.
