[All The Crap I Do To Sleep As A Perimenopausal Woman]( âWhen you decide to become a parent, you know there are many months â possibly years! â ahead when you wonât get a good nightâs sleep. Now that Iâm the parent of an actual teenager, his sleeping is no longer an issue (except for the fact that he now wants to stay up later than me),â writes Janine Annett. âBut Iâve never been a great sleeper, and now thereâs perimenopause in the mix. That means I often struggle to fall asleep, wake up in the middle of the night, or wake up early â sometimes all in the same evening/morning!â So sheâs developed a whole series of coping strategies⦠and I bet youâll find some of them useful. â Kelly Faircloth, Executive Editor [Read More â®]( Latest [Crowd of Kansas City Chiefs fans with a sign reading "Merry Chiefsmas" at a football game.]( Jamie Squire/Getty Images

Hereâs what I landed on: The Rom-Commers by Katerine Center. I devoured this book over two days, and it reminded me of past favorites of mine like Nora Goes Off Script and Beach Read. Hereâs the set up: Emma Wheeler wants to be a screenwriter, but itâs impossible because sheâs caretaking for both her little sister and her disabled dad. But when she gets the opportunity of a lifetime to help world-famous writer Charlie Yates re-rewrite a rom-com script over six weeks, she finds a way to leave everything behind, just for a little while, to see what happens. Of course, when she arrives in LA, she finds out that Charlie is a jerk, the script is a complete disaster, and she doesnât even have a place to live. But Emma doesnât quit that easily. This is her only chance to pursue her dream, and sheâs going to go for it. And along the way, she might â okay, she totally does â find herself in her own real-life rom-com.
