Hi , For years, this is what I felt like in my business... Cute, right? Not if you want to grow and scale a successful business. The harsh reality is MOST founders are "dancing bears." They're big, powerful, and important... BUT... The business can't run without them. The second the bear stops dancing... the bear stops getting paid! As the dancing bear, my business couldn't survive without me. So I set out on a journey to figure out how I could stop dancing, but still have money coming in the door (otherwise known as "transferable value"). And what I discovered are 3 key steps: 1) I needed to create process Checklists and processes are great when people use them... but no one ever does. Instead, scalable companies have documented value engines. The things you do and execute on as a company, across multiple teams, people & platforms, to create value for both the business & your customers. It wasn't until I realized this that we were able to create a clear playbook to clone our best people and get more work done... in less time... the right way, the first time. 2) I needed to hire the right people Before this journey, our typical hiring process sounded something like... "We're BURIED under all this work. We don't have time for 15 different interviews... let's just get someone in here YESTERDAY!" After dozens of miss-hires, I realized a great hiring process isn't just about following all the laws and guidelines to fill a seat ASAP. It also means taking into account your business needs and goals. The right hiring process is guided by your core values, proactive, and focused on bettering the business. And most importantly of all, I had to learn that when you're trying to grow it's about hiring for your weaknesses, but... When you're trying to scale it's about hiring for your strengths. 3) I needed a new "operating system" Look, I get it. There's nothing fun about creating systems and processes. It forces us to slow down... even stop, sometimes. But good systems are essential for scale. And despite all the talk among entrepreneurs about "building the rocket ship on the way up," when Elon Musk set out to build actual rockets, you better believe they had solid systems and processes in place prior to liftoff... We needed to create the processes & playbooks that supported the goal & objectives of our company and provided communication & alignment across the company so that team members could work effectively and efficiently. What I like to call a "Scalable Operating System." That was it, the 3 things I needed to build transferable value... And in the end, I was no longer the dancing bear and my company could continue to grow with or without me... now that's powerful. Want to know one of THE BIG SECRETS that separates 8-figure entrepreneurs from 6 and 7-figure? The ultimate goal is to pivot from being the "doer" to being the best spokesperson your brand has ever known... Just ask Sir Richard Branson, Warren Buffet, Kylie Jenner, and Sara Blakely to name a few. That's the big lesson for today.
