Exhausted and afraid, he’s withdrawn from his family completely. “Salem seems to have lost hope for the future. He used to have dreams,” his mother shared, “but now, he just wants to stay at home.” [Friend, let’s tell Congress loud and clear: we cannot expect children to cope with the horrors of war on their own.]( Globally, 1 in 6 kids like Salem struggles with depression, anxiety and other devastating mental disorders – but in low- and middle-income countries, 75% of people don’t have access to treatment.
