You need to hear this. [Save the Children]( [CHILDREN IN CONFLICT]( Trigger warning: This content shares detailed accounts of suffering that listeners may find distressing. My name is Matt Sugrue and I’m the Team Leader for Save the Children’s Gaza Response team. I’m writing to share some striking updates about the scale of devastation I’ve seen in recent weeks. The crisis in Gaza is unprecedented. Over 28,000 people have been killed – including more than 12,000 children. Over 500,000 people are facing starvation. Kids don’t have the amount of water they need to survive. There are more than 350,000 cases of infectious diseases. Enough is enough. I recently visited a maternity ward in Rafah, Gaza. [Listen to my first-person account of what I saw here.]( [Listen to the 1 minute and 28 second recording.]( We must deliver emergency aid, unimpeded. We must allow children and their families to seek safety. We must scale up humanitarian assistance to meet the demands of this crisis. We must provide lifesaving aid to children. There are millions of children facing hunger, disease and disaster, and they need to be protected. As we work to help children in Gaza and other areas around the world access the resources and care they need to thrive, your support is more important than ever. In this moment of crisis for children around the globe, a generous group of donors has offered to match every contribution from individuals like you for the next 48 hours. [So please, will you make a donation today? It’ll go twice as far to help us raise $75,000 and aid millions of children who need support to grow up healthy, learning and safe.]( In moments of crisis and always, thank you for all you do to make our world a better, safer place for children. Matt Sugrue Team Leader for the Gaza Response Save the Children A generous group of donors has donated to a matching gift fund to inspire more donors like you to support our mission, and every dollar you donate will unlock a dollar from this pool. To unlock this match and help us reach our goal, please click the donation link in this email. All donations will be matched 2x for the first $75,000 in donations, or until midnight on Feb. 24, 2024. Monthly gifts will be matched for the first monthly installment only. If we meet our match goal prior to receiving your one-time or monthly donation, your donation will not be matched but will still go to support our programs.
