We’re extremely concerned about the effect of these global crises on children

We can’t look away from crises threatening children’s futures around the world. As new crises emerge and intensify around the world, Save the Children teams are now actively responding to several emergencies threatening children – on top of our lifesaving work to address the climate crisis, global hunger, poverty and inequality. In Mexico, Hurricane Otis intensified rapidly without warning, striking the state of Guerrero as a Category 5 storm – the strongest ever to hit this region. More than 1 million people are without power, and children and families in the most remote communities are cut off from critical resources. In Afghanistan, multiple earthquakes have worsened a desperate situation. Families already struggling with an economic crisis and food insecurity are now without shelter as winter approaches. Children affected by conflict and disaster are particularly unsafe – and they must be protected. As we work to help children around the world access the resources and care they need to thrive, your support is more important than ever.
