In Gaza, more than 1,000 children have reportedly been killed in 11 days of conflict. That’s one child every 15 minutes. Schools and hospitals – places of safety and sanctuary – must be protected at all costs. Meanwhile, the families of kidnapped Israeli children are desperate for their safe return. They must be released immediately and unconditionally. Save the Children condemns these attacks – and all violence against children – in the strongest possible terms, and we’re calling for an immediate ceasefire. The already dire humanitarian situation in Gaza is getting worse by the minute, giving rise to soaring needs for water, food, fuel and other basic necessities. Our teams are working to deliver supplies to the Gaza Strip as soon as a safe passage for aid across the border is established. In moments of conflict, natural disasters or other crises, Save the Children's emergency teams support children still trapped in the situation and children who’ve fled, providing vital aid including food, water and medical care. We also create safe spaces for kids to socialize, learn and play and provide psychosocial support to children, families and educators.
