I have seen firsthand the progress we’ve made in this country, but our work is far from finished. [Sanford Bishop for Congress]( [Sanford Bishop for Congress]( Dear {NAME}, I want to share my story with you. It’s what motivates me to serve Georgia in the U.S. House. [If you’re able, please consider chipping in whatever you can to help me continue that work.]( I grew up as the son of two educators in Mobile, Alabama. My father was the first president of Bishop State Community College, and my mother was a librarian. They instilled in me from a young age the value of service. After going to college and earning my law degree, I served my country in the United States Army right here at Ft. Benning military base. Then I ran for the Georgia House of Representatives, so I could serve my community further. And I won. I won again when I ran for Georgia Senate, and once again when I ran for U.S. Representative of Georgia’s 2nd Congressional District. Throughout my life, serving my country has been my life’s mission. I believe God has ordered the steps of my life and blessed me with strong tools and talents to use the legislative process as a ministry of public service to improve the lives of our people and our communities. I have seen firsthand the progress we’ve made, but our work is far from finished. My goal throughout my service in public office has been to create a better quality of life for all citizens by promoting a stronger, more diversified economy, better education, safe and secure communities, a healthy environment, affordable and accessible health care, and a strong national defense — all within the context of a balanced budget. And that’s why, during my time in office, I’ve been a strong supporter of legislation like the John Lewis R. Voting Rights Act, Lowering Food and Fuel Costs Act, and now the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022. [{NAME}, please consider making a contribution to protect my seat in the U.S. House so I can continue making progress for our communities across Middle and Southwest Georgia.]( If you’ve saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately.
