Since then, the movement has gone beyond viral, changing the dynamic of contemporary politics, evolving the conversation around race in America and inspiring generations of activist like Darnell Moore. Moore is an award-winning author, activist and advocate for justice. In his new memoir [“No Ashes in the Fire: Coming of Age Black and Free in America,”]( Moore shares the journey taken by that scared, bullied teenager who not only survived but found his calling. He recently sat down with Salon’s studio to discuss his book, the power of Black Lives Matter and the evolution of the movement. “The movement for Black Lives should be expected to morph.
