[Salon Stage: Celtic Thunder](
Thereâs no better way to get into the Saint Patrick's Day spirit than with the tender voices of the global Irish supergroup Celtic Thunder. Two members of the five-man group, Ryan Kelly and Neil Byrne, performed an exclusive live acoustic set on âSalon Stageâ to celebrate the groupâs 10th anniversary and the release of their two CD/two DVD live set,âCeltic Thunder X,â available now. For SalonTV viewers, Kelly and Byrne perform an acoustic cover of a 19th century Irish folk classic, âRocky Road to Dublin,â and open up about the healing impact their music has had on fans around the world. âItâs worth more than all the money in the world when you get somebody coming back to you thatâs going through a really hard time that said, âIâm so happy when I just get lost in your music.â Thereâs nothing as good,â Neil Byrne told Salon. Watch the video above to hear Byrne and Kelly perform the Irish classic tune and discuss the reciprocal exchange of energy that the group shares with its fans. [Trump's new top economic adviser](
In a 2016 interview with Salon, economic commentator Larry Kudlow, who has been named a top economic adviser to President Donald Trump, opened up about his plans for economic growth, tax rates and trade. "What's killing us today is high business tax rates," Kudlow said on "Salon Talks" in October 2016. "Our tax laws are arcane. We double and triple tax corporations. That's why they keep their money overseas." On international trade: "It's not Mexico that bothers me, it's China that really bothers me." Kudlow said. "They lie, cheat and steal, and they do it on a daily basis." On Trump: "I'm not as hawkish as he is. I'm more a free trader," he said. Watch the interview above to hear about how Kudlow first met Trump.

[Which female artist has shaped your creativity?](
Question of the Week: Which female artist has influenced your creative work? In light of March being Women's History Month, SalonTVâs guests, all artists and creators themselves, weighed in on which women have inspired them. Watch above for commentary from entertainer Nick Cannon, Pulitzer Prize-winning and New York Times best-selling author Junot DÃaz, HBO âSilicon Valleyâ comedian Jimmy O. Yang, and Salonâs own editor and author D. Watkins.
[âAngels in Americaâ returns](
When Tony Kushnerâs âAngels in Americaâ landed on Broadway in 1993 it forever changed how gay lives were depicted in popular culture. On its 25th anniversary, authors Dan Kois and Isaac Butler join Salonâs Amanda Marotte on âSalon Talksâ to share the oral history of the breakout show that won a Tony Award, a Pulitzer Prize and sparked a hit HBO adaptation starring Meryl Streep and Al Pacino. Kois and Butlerâs new book âThe World Only Spins Forwardâ pieces together nearly 250 interviews, including Meryl Streep, Mary-Louise Parker, Nathan Lane, and playwright Tony Kushner. For both Kois and Butler, who are huge fans of the show, they took great care to ensure that the oral history matched the aesthetic and overall themes of the original production. Kois told Salon, âThe play is so much about the interchange of voices and a dialectic of people arguing points⦠points of love and faith and politics and idealism. And so the idea of having all these people talk to each other on our pages seemed like a great way to sort of pay tribute to that.â Check out the episode above to hear more about the playâs cultural significance, how it took on the emergence of AIDS and helped accelerate the nationâs changing attitudes around homosexuality.
