In the final kilometers of the womenâs marathon, five of the best female marathoners of all time had a chance at not only making the podium, but taking home gold. It was thrilling to see a race this bigâ40 years after the first womenâs Olympic marathon was held in Los Angelesâand how it was coming down to the final moments. The Olympics really returned to form in Paris with amazing crowds and incredible moments, and the athletes of track and field were a major part of that. It becomes hard to single out any one moment as the BEST of this week. (You can find our [full coverage here]( of nearly every major running event.) Weâll recall Hassan's triple, Grant Fisherâs double bronze in the 5,000 and 10,000, and people like Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone, ShaâCarri Richardson, Noah Lyles, Femke Bol, Mondo Duplantis, Nikki Hiltz, Faith Kipyegon, Gabby Thomas, and so many more making their mark via their performances or by simply being at these games for a purpose.
