A highlight of my time in the Senate was when the Respect for Marriage Act, my bipartisan bill to protect marriage equality, was signed into law late last year. That’s a moment I will never forget. Wisconsin just took a huge first step in the right direction with our Supreme Court race last week, but we still have a long way to go toward making sure every woman has the freedom to make her own decisions no matter what zip code she lives in. I remain hopeful that we can do all of this — and more — together. But it won’t be easy, especially if Republicans have it their way. Their views are becoming more out-of-touch and dangerous by the day, and I know for sure that they will come after my Senate seat with everything they’ve got.
