We need to make our own plans ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌

We need to make our own plans ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ 50 Senators were supposedly issued emergency satellite phones this week. After all, we just saw a military incursion into Russia yesterday. (Don't miss Mr. X on that.) Obviously, these phones will be used to keep senators informed if there's an emergency... and we can all think of plenty of things that could go wrong. Yet that got me thinking... who is keeping ordinary investors informed? We don't get bailouts. We don't get the Secretary of the Treasury convincing billionaires to guard us against losses. We don't have anybody in power watching our backs. It's important to have a growth mindset - but that shouldn't mean being naïve. The system operates for the interests of those in power. That doesn't mean it's rigged against you, but it means it doesn't operate with you in mind. That means you need to have an outside perspective - a mercenary perspective - a rogue perspective. "I think the tone tonight was better than any other night we've had discussions," he said. However, President Joe Biden noted that "we still have some disagreements." Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen said that June 1 remains the deadline for avoiding a default that could crush the economy - Jamie Dimon Says Rates Going High - JPMorgan Chase head Jamie Dimon said people need to be "prepared for rates going higher from here," perhaps to 6 or 7 percent. Dimon also said banks are already starting to restrict lending. "You're already seeing credit tighten up because the easiest way for a bank to retain capital is not to make the next loan." - Housing Market In Trouble - Fannie Mae economists argue a "large slowdown in activity" is coming for the housing market later this year. Tightening credit for construction lending could also restrict supply. HOT SPOTS: What's Going on in Geopolitics - Chinese Protests Forces Taiwan Out Of World Health Organization Meeting - The World Health Organization rejected Taiwan's request to join its annual assembly.
