We need to make our own plans

After all, we just saw a military incursion into Russia yesterday. (Don't miss Mr. X on that.) Obviously, these phones will be used to keep senators informed if there's an emergency... and we can all think of plenty of things that could go wrong.
Yet that got me thinking... who is keeping ordinary investors informed? We don't get bailouts. We don't get the Secretary of the Treasury convincing billionaires to guard us against losses. We don't have anybody in power watching our backs. It's important to have a growth mindset - but that shouldn't mean being naïve. The system operates for the interests of those in power. That doesn't mean it's rigged against you, but it means it doesn't operate with you in mind. That means you need to have an outside perspective - a mercenary perspective - a rogue perspective.
The point is to approach the economy like a merchant adventurer ready to make a conquest. We are in a time with more opportunity than ever. I'd rather be alive now instead of any other time or any other place. But no one is going to hand us fortune.
We need to be willing to seize it for ourselves.
Keep Moving, Corey Snyder
