EV F-150 production halted due to battery issue ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ â?

EV F-150 production halted due to battery issue ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ You know what they say about first impressions. And it's also why reinventions are such a tricky thing. Let's break down Ford (F). It's an all-American company that is practically inseparable from this country's very identity. You know you are old school when your stock ticker is a single letter. That gives Ford a certain inherent advantage. There are people out there who have always bought Fords, will always buy Fords, and want to stick with what is familiar. Plus, when you say "buy American," when it comes to cars, that means Michigan. And that's a big part of the "reshoring" initiative that President Joe Biden is putting at the heart of his re-election effort. Of course, along with that comes one big change - Ford needs to be a leader in electric vehicles. And, for a while, it looked like it was pulling it off. After all, an EV F-150 practically sells itself. But now production of that absolutely critical model is going to be down through at least the end of next week. This is after disappointing quarterly results blamed on faulty supply chains - something that this latest debacle suggests is worse than ever. And even Ford's big EV battery factory is becoming a political headache because Senator Macro Rubio (R-FL) is going after its ties with China. A company may be most vulnerable when it is trying to "reinvent" itself. A great legacy can become a liability. Ford will be a powerful test case to see if those single-letter stock tickers can still compete in the new economy. We’re still firmly in the chop zone and could see some continued upside tomorrow. However, eventually the market will pick a direction. Whether this is higher or lower remains to be seen. Most of our Trade Command room profits today came from credit spreads and iron condors - the perfect trades for range-bound price action." "In markets like this don’t expect any long-term trends to hold. Shift your analysis to lower time frames such as the 1-4 hour charts. A couple of tickers to consider on the long side with potential include KDP and TNA (shown below on the 78 min chart), which may see some upside over the next few days. Put these on your watchlist and see if they make sense according to your rules and plan." Cheers, Chris Hood WORD ON THE STREET F-150 Disaster, Zillow and Cisco Beat Earnings Expectations - ZG Pops After Earnings Beat - "A slow and difficult housing market in 2022" wasn't enough to stop Zillow Group (ZG), according to co-founder and CEO Rich Barton. The company brought in $435 million in revenue and tripled expectations on earnings per share. ZG gained both during the trading day and after-hours. - Speaking Of Bad Supply Chains... - Ford (F) blamed disappointing quarterly earnings on problems with its supply chain. Well, it looks like that problem is getting worse, not better. The EV version of the F-150 won't be produced until at least the end of next week because of a supply issue. A battery issue that could lead to possible fires has slammed the brakes on the company's signature product. The problem discussed earlier this week just got much worse. Ford's "Tesla Killer" Is Down For The Count - "Shaping Up To Be A Great Year" - Cisco (CSCO) beat expectations on both earnings and revenue in its latest quarterly earnings report. More importantly, it said the best is yet to come. "Our fiscal 2023 is shaping up to be a great year," said CEO Chuck Robbins. Revenue growth projections for this year have about doubled compared to what executives were projecting just three months ago. - Streaming Surpasses Traditional Television - Americans will spend more time watching digital video and streaming programs than traditional television for the first time in history this year. The estimate comes from Insider Intelligence. "Given teens' preferences for social and streaming video over TV, we can expect these trends to continue to shift in favor of digital," said principal analyst Jasmine Enberg. ONE STOCK. President Joe Biden is reportedly considering a national address to discuss the mysterious balloons and other objects that have been shot down over American airspace in recent days. While one object was a Chinese spy balloon, at least three others have not been identified. - Munger Mogs On TSLA In Chinese Market – Charlie Munger, vice chairman of Berkshire Hathaway and longtime collaborator with Warren Buffett, doesn't think much of Tesla's chances in China. While praising Chinese EV maker BYD, he said it is "so much ahead of Tesla in China" that it is "almost ridiculous." He argued that BYD was able to actually increase its prices last year while TSLA had to cut prices in order to compete. - Chinese Government Rips American Balloon Response - The National People's Congress's Foreign Affairs Committee accused the United States of "purely malicious hype and political manipulation." It also said America had fully exposed "their sinister designs to oppose China and contain China." Chief Investment Strategist, Adam O’Dell, says we’re witnessing a new oil boom that is STILL just in its infancy. Because Adam says there’s a convergence of multiple geopolitical and economic factors coming together in 2023…that will create a brand-new SUPER BULL in oil… That could send prices higher than any previous peak in history. The MATURE Act (Making Age-Verification Technology Uniform, Robust and Effective) would force social media companies to prevent anyone under the age of 16 from making accounts. "Children suffer every day from the effects of social media," the senator said in a statement. - DAN Gets Around ChatGPT – If you feel like deliberately offending yourself, use this little trick to get around ChatGPT's rules on not being offensive. If you ask it to adopt the personality of DAN - Do Anything Now - you'll get some, shall we say, controversial answers. The results were tearing up social media as ChatGPT continues to grow in popularity. While it is another headache to deal with, it's a sign that OpenAI and Microsoft have the lead in AI, as Google head Sundar Picahi admitted "some of our most successful products were not first to market." - Wait, You're Calling It WHAT?!? - Babcock International just brought home a $480 million contract for the United Kingdom's new defense satellite communications system. Its name? "Skynet." I don't know about you, but I'm sleeping soundly tonight. You Can't Say We Weren't Warned FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION --------------------------------------------------------------- "With the quarterly filings now out, investors and financial media pundits have been pouring over who bought what at the end of 2022…" "And the one fund manager that’s getting the most attention is arguably one of, if not, the greatest traders of all time…""…George Soros…" Say what you will about George Soros, but the man is a great investor. So when he acts, traders should pay attention. Corey breaks down Soros's surprising move on Tesla (TSLA) and how it shows the importance of price action.
