A strong jobs report could prompt more rate hikes ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ Good news is bad news. That's the bizarre situation we're in. All eyes on the jobs report hitting today... and what impact it will have on the Fed. (Incidentally, these economists remind me more of shamans than business professionals.) Here's the situation... Expectations are for 275,000 new (nonfarm) jobs and unemployment remaining steady at 3.7%. Normally, especially going into an election, low unemployment would be something a presidential Administration would shout from the heavens. However, if we get something better than 3.7% unemployment or more jobs than expected... that means the Fed will see itself as failing in its mission to control inflation. And that means more rate hikes. And that means more unhappy traders... and mortgage holders... and tech companies... and on and on. Another important member of the Fed gave a signal not to expect a pivot anytime soon. So traders shouldn't fool themselves. We're going into this morning with the environment heavily dependent on a singular event that we can't know in advance. (Well, maybe some in Congress might, and they just said they are going to allow themselves to keep trading, but that's another story.) What to do? Again, as always, go to your technical toolkit when there is market uncertainty about a dominant Narrative. These are universally applicable. They work regardless of market conditions. That's what we're trying to do here at Rogue... help you turn into the kind of traders that see an opportunity to win every single time. If you will it, it is no dream. Keep Moving, Any strategy that makes you money consistently is worthwhile. Though many new traders believe that trading is primarily about indicators and tools, Chris maintains that it is at least 95% about emotional control. This is especially relevant in this bearish, choppy market which has made the trading world extremely difficult. Learn some pro tips to come back from your losses and stay in the game. During a speech, President Joe Biden reportedly said that "we have not faced the prospect of Armageddon since Kennedy and the Cuban missile crisis." He also said President Vladimir Putin was serious about his willingness to use nuclear weapons and expressed doubts that even the use of a tactical nuke wouldn't lead to an all-0ut exchange.  - Kashkari Drowns Hopes Of Fed Pivot - Minneapolis Federal Reserve Bank President Neel Kashkari threw cold water on dreamers who think the Fed is about to pull a 180. He said the Fed has "more work to do" on inflation and that he's "not comfortable with saying we are going to pause" on interest rate hikes. "Your punishment must be more severe" - Kashkari, basically - All Eyes On Jobs Report - The Bureau of Labor Statistics will release its report on payrolls at 8:30 AM EST, and we don't want good news. While payrolls and unemployment will be the key factors most focus on, wage growth must not be overlooked. If average hourly earnings increase by more than 0.3% month over month, the Fed may take that as evidence that inflation is still running rampant. - POTUS To Pardon Reefer Madness - President Joe Biden announced that he would pardon all previous convictions for simple possession of marijuana. "There are thousands of people who have prior federal convictions for marijuana possession, who may be denied employment, housing or educational opportunities as a result." More importantly, he also said the federal government will examine how the drug is classified - which could be a huge boost to the cannabis industry. Currently, fears of being dragged into a federal investigation are limiting investments. To take just one example from yesterday, Aurora Cannabis Inc. (ACB) was up 7.26%.  “3-Pillar” strategy spots a 108% surge in just 4 days... RapidFire is on fire — with new trades are on the verge of exploding soon! [Click here to learn more](. HOT SPOTS: What's Going on in Geopolitics - Why Didn't Anyone Think Of This Before? - Facing severe inflation, Belarussian President Alexander Lukashenko has a great idea. "From today, any price increase is prohibited," he announced. "Prohibited!" Well, problem solved everyone, go home. - Kherson's Russian-Backed Leader Says Minister Of Defense Should Kill Himself –Deputy Governor of the Kherson region Kirill Stremousov, part of the government backed by Moscow, is not happy with the help he's getting from the Russian military. After all, Ukraine is advancing to reclaim the territory he supposedly runs. He put the blame squarely on Russian Minister of Defense Sergei Shoigu. "Many people are saying that as an officer, the defense minister could simply shoot himself for being the one who let things get to this state," Stremousov said.  - UN Denies Debate On China's Conduct In Xinjiang - In a close 19-17 vote (with 11 abstaining), China won a key victory at the United Nations. The UN rights council will NOT debate Beijing's treatment of the Uyghurs. A Uyghur rights group called the defeat "a disaster." CUTTING EDGE: What[']( Happening In Tech - Jim Cramer Tweet Is Fake, We're Safe - Jim Cramer hasn't been having the best luck when it comes to picking stocks. ([There's even a Cramer inverse strategy - read about it here]( So there was panic when people posted a tweet supposedly from Jim Cramer that read: "It is incredibly unlikely that Russia will use nuclear weapons." Fear not - Reuters says it's a fake. We're safe... for now. - New Problem: EVs On Fire After Hurricane Ian – Well, this is something those who want to ban gas-powered cars may need to consider. EVs waterlogged by Hurricane Ian are being disabled as batteries corrode. In at least four cases, cars have burst into flames. - Twitter Still Wants Its Day In Court - More drama in Elon Musk's attempt to buy Twitter - the social media company isn't willing to halt legal proceedings. The key is that Musk allegedly added new language to his offer. One reportedly says that it is contingent on his ability to raise the money. The court has given Musk a stay until the 28th - essentially a deadline to raise the money. Twitter Complained Musk Is Using "Mischief And Delay" FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION "Inevitably, we find ourselves tackling too many things at the same time, spreading our focus so thin that nothing gets the attention it deserves. This is commonly referred to as 'being busy.' Being busy, however, is not the same thing as being productive." isn't a thing.
