Williams's comments were especially important because he is seen as one of the three most important people at the institution behind Chairman Jerome Powell and Vice Chair Lael Brainard. - Russia Reinforces As Ukraine Claims It's Winning - Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is sticking to his claims that his country will be able to reclaim all of its territory - including Crimea. Ukrainian southern command claimed that the Russians are in retreat. However, the Russian lines have not collapsed and the counteroffensive is facing stiff resistance. He argued that the automotive industry is especially vulnerable, with cancellations of semiconductor orders likely as the recession hits and demand weakens. Interesting that he takes the recession for granted at this point. Still, it could be a buying opportunity for some investors looking at the long term. - Dell Pulls Out Of Russia, Warns Of Dismal Quarter – Dell (DELL) dropped below $40 a share as it completed its pullout from Russia and warned investors of tough times ahead. Late last week, Dell warned that third quarter revenue will actually be 8% lower than it had forecast just a few months ago in May. Now, Dell is at its lowest price Year-To-Date, having shed more than 30% of its value so far in 2022.   - Royal Caribbean Hooking Up With Starlink - With COVID-19 in the rearview, cruise companies are looking to the future again. Royal Caribbean (RCL) announced it will be partnering with SpaceX and Starlink for faster internet on all its ships. The company is hoping to have Starlink across the entire fleet by the first quarter of 2023.
