The reason these policy speeches have become so important is because policymakers are able to go a bit more into detail about what they are thinking. It's not just a simple announcement about what they are going to do with rate hikes.

Don't count on it. - NVDA Drops In After-Hours On Earnings Miss â Nvidia (NVDA) missed on earnings per share, though it met revenue expectations. Income revenue is down 72% year-over-year, and part of that is due to the collapse in crypto prices. However, what really has markets worried was the Q3 forecast, which is about $1 billion short of what was expected.  NVDA was down more than 4.5% in after-hours - Japan's Openness To Nuclear Boosts Uranium Stocks â Japan has, uh, a complicated history with nuclear energy. The 2011 Fukushima nuclear disaster didn't help. However, because of the current energy crisis, the Japanese government is reportedly exploring new nuclear power plants. CUTTING EDGE: What[']( Happening In Tech - The Heavy Cost Of "Long COVID" - More than two million Americans are reportedly not working because of "long COVID," which causes symptoms including trouble breathing and brain fog. The estimated costs, according to a Brookings Institute report, translate to about $170 billion a year in lost wages.  - Man Gets HIV, Monkeypox, And COVID-19 All At Once â All right, I think social distancing is called for in this instance at least. A man in Italy who engaged in unprotected sex has reportedly contracted all three of these diseases, the first patient in history with this, uh, dubious honor. The case report was published in the Journal of Infection. The man had been vaccinated with the Pfizer vaccine for COVID-19, so this represents yet another breakthrough case.  - SeaWorld Accused Of Mutant Orcas - We've always been told dolphins would eventually take over the world, but maybe it's mutant orcas created by SeaWorld. An ex-trainer alleged a breeding program was crossing subspecies of orcas that would never mix in the wild. SeaWorld strongly denied the allegations. The company said the claims were designed to "get clicks, not communicate facts or science" FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION It was a very big deal when Japan signaled its willingness to start building more nuclear reactors.
