Investors appear to believe the worst of the financial crisis is behind us, and volatility levels are starting to fall. The market is digesting the latest gross domestic product data, which came in at 2.6%, just below the prior figure and consensus estimates of 2.7%, and below the range of the 2.7% to 3% that was projected. Meanwhile, the most recent jobless claims data came in at 198,000 versus estimates of 195,000. The number was also 7,000 higher than the figure for the previous period.
