Initial jobless claims came in at 190,000 versus 196,000 expected, indicating there’s still strength in the jobs market. Investors will be listening for information on the central bank’s upcoming plans as Fed Governor Christopher Waller speaks Thursday afternoon. Earnings season continues, with retailer Macy's beating estimates and meeting revenue, sending shares up more than 7%. Electronics retailer Best Buy beat fourth-quarter earnings estimates, but fell short on fiscal year earnings and issued disappointing revenue guidance. Shares dropped almost 2% on the news. Cloud software company Salesforce smashed Wall Street expectations, issued a strong forecast and announced it’s expanding its buyback program, causing shares to soar nearly 16% in premarket trading.
