This year, Certificants will elect two Practitioner Members to the Certification Board. The new board me mbers’ terms will begin with the Board’s annual meeting in March 2019. To be considered for an NCBTMB Board of Directors Practitioner Member position, you must: • Be NCBTMB Board Certified for a minimum of five (5) years • Maintain your NCBTMB Board Certifi cation throughout your term • Have a minimum of eight (8) years’ experience in the massage profession • Provide indication of previous volunteer position(s) • Have a minimum of three (3) years’ management or leadership experience • Provide at least three (3) and up to five (5) letters of recommendation In addition to the above requirements, you must: • Agree to abide by NCBTMB's Conflict of Interest Policy and Code of Conduct for Volunteers • Not hold a national level position in another massage/bodywork professional or trade organization • Commit to the time and travel necessary to be a fully participating member of the Board, including attendance at meetings and serving as a liaison to committees • Provide a video of up to 90 seconds describing what Board Certification means to you • Review an educational article on the position responsibilities, duties, and expectations • Participate in a 30 - minute teleconference interview with the NCBTMB’s Slate Selec tion Commission (SSC) Your completed application must be submitted online at www.ncbtmb.org/election no later than September 15, 2018, at 5:00pm CDT. You will find that we offer a challenging curriculum in a very unique learning environment. The experience and knowledge gained from going through our program clearly differentiates KAMS students from traditional high school graduates. Our students are the future leaders of Kansas and will play a critical role in the long-term economic prosperity of the state. Currently, we are able to offer the KAMS experience to 40 students per class. The admissions process is selective and holistic. Grades and standardized test scores are certainly important in the admissions decision process, but we also consider the maturity of the applicant and their willingness to put forth the time and effort needed to be successful.
