[RiskHedge Roundup] There’s no sugarcoating it: it’s been a rough ride lately for crypto… After hitting an all-time high in November, bitcoin (BTC)—the world’s largest crypto—has fallen 47%. And the rest of the crypto market has followed. In fact, around $500 billion has been wiped from crypto’s total market cap since last week. If you’re new to crypto investing, you may be nervous right now. But what’s happening is completely normal. Over the last decade, the crypto asset class has outperformed all others—by a wide margin. But it’s been a wildly bumpy ride. Just look at bitcoin’s roller-coaster chart: As you can see, whenever bitcoin has slumped, it eventually rocketed back upwards. Last April to June, bitcoin dropped from a high of $64,863 to a low of $29,360. That’s a 55% decrease. But by November, it was trading at $68,790/coin—a 134% gain. As you see, massive swings are simply the nature of crypto. Many cryptos routinely see 50%, 75%, even 90% drops in price. If I you can’t stomach that, then crypto may not be for you. But if you can, you could see some incredible returns. Chief analyst Stephen McBride heads up our new crypto advisory, RiskHedge Venture. He just sent out an alert to subscribers explaining why this selloff is presenting an incredible buying opportunity in the tinier cryptos he follows. But you MUST stay disciplined: As a general rule of thumb, put no more than 5% of your investable assets in crypto. Above all else: don’t invest any money into crypto that you can’t afford to lose. In volatile assets like crypto, you need “staying power” to remain invested while prices are swinging around. The best way to have staying power is to keep your position sizes small. I expect the general trajectory of crypto to be “up.” But it will be a volatile ride. It won’t be easy to hold through the big ups and downs. In fact, it will be hard. But I believe the returns we can earn will be well worth it. If you’d like to know which cryptos to buy while the entire market is at a discount, Stephen’s RiskHedge Venture might be perfect for you. He’s focused on finding tiny cryptos that could pay off 10-fold or more.
