Often, I find myself in that position as well. It’s part of the human condition to be faced with difficult situations, choices, and people.  We teach at Hillsdale College that we must carefully consider concepts such as morality, ethics, happiness, courage, character, and justice when we face difficult questions.  In the Nicomachean Ethics—the first book written on how best to live—Aristotle argues that human happiness chiefly depends upon a person’s character, which is formed by making good choices.  But good choices don’t come naturally. That’s why every student at Hillsdale studies Aristotle. In fact, understanding Aristotle is so important to living a good life that we’ve produced our online course, “Introduction to Aristotle’s Ethics: How to Lead a Good Life.” And now you can own the course on DVD, along with a special Hillsdale College edition of Aristotle’s Nicomachean Ethics, for personal study.  You’ll not only study what Aristotle says about the good life with Hillsdale College President Larry P. Arnn, but you will also explore ways to put this knowledge to work. The Flesch readability score uses the average length of your sentences (measured by the number of words) and the average number of syllables per word in an equation to calculate the reading ease. Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables. Usually, a reading ease score of 60-70 is considered acceptable/normal for web copy.
