Two years on… a special project to show gratitude 💛💙. {NAME} – Two years ago

Two years on… a special project to show gratitude 💛💙. [International Rescue Committee logo.]( {NAME} – Two years ago, everything changed for children and families in Ukraine. Millions of people will remain internally displaced in Ukraine in 2024, with 5.9 million refugees forecasted across the region. What's followed over the past two years of escalated war in Ukraine is the biggest mass displacement Europe has seen since World War II — and that crisis continues to this day. Humanitarian workers — including my IRC colleagues in Ukraine and Poland — have responded with courage, compassion, and a tireless determination to help children and families survive. On this milestone of the full-scale war in Ukraine, I'm hoping you'll help me with a special project to show gratitude to my brave colleagues who continue to provide humanitarian assistance in Ukraine. [Please, take a moment right now to send a quick message of thanks and support to a humanitarian worker providing life-changing aid >>]( [Ukraine]( [THANK A HUMANITARIAN WORKER »]( The IRC's Child Protection team, pictured above, provides psychological and social support services to children in the remote villages and towns of the Kharkiv region in Ukraine. The humanitarian situation in Ukraine remains severe, {NAME}. That's why I'm so grateful for this community's support for our response in Ukraine and other emergencies. Through two years of full-scale war and turmoil, your support has made an incredible difference for Ukrainian children and families. With your help, the IRC has reached over 800,000 people in Ukraine with life-changing aid and helped support thousands of refugee families living across Europe and in the United States. I am inspired by the continuing courage and resilience of people who have been displaced by conflict, and those who remain in danger. I'm also grateful for the 230 brave members of the IRC's staff who provide humanitarian assistance to people living in the east and south of the country, where the fighting is most dangerous. I know you agree, {NAME}. [Please, spare just a moment on this solemn anniversary to thank an IRC humanitarian worker who is continuing to support children and families whose lives have been torn apart by this conflict.]( A kind word from compassionate people like you really shows our staff that people care. Never for a moment do I take for granted your support for our humanitarian response efforts, {NAME}. I know that my colleagues working in Ukraine, and the people they serve, feel the same. Thank you for taking the time to help lift their spirits. — Joanna Joanna Nahorska Senior Global Communications Officer, Europe International Rescue Committee The International Rescue Committee | [Rescue.org]( 122 East 42nd Street, New York, New York 10168-1289 USA To ensure future delivery of IRC e-mails, please add our reply address updates@rescue.org to your Address Book.
