Millions of people will remain internally displaced in Ukraine in 2024, with 5.9 million refugees forecasted across the region. What's followed over the past two years of escalated war in Ukraine is the biggest mass displacement Europe has seen since World War II — and that crisis continues to this day. Humanitarian workers — including my IRC colleagues in Ukraine and Poland — have responded with courage, compassion, and a tireless determination to help children and families survive. The humanitarian situation in Ukraine remains severe, {NAME}. That's why I'm so grateful for this community's support for our response in Ukraine and other emergencies. Through two years of full-scale war and turmoil, your support has made an incredible difference for Ukrainian children and families. With your help, the IRC has reached over 800,000 people in Ukraine with life-changing aid and helped support thousands of refugee families living across Europe and in the United States. I am inspired by the continuing courage and resilience of people who have been displaced by conflict, and those who remain in danger. I'm also grateful for the 230 brave members of the IRC's staff who provide humanitarian assistance to people living in the east and south of the country, where the fighting is most dangerous.
