As many prepare to gather with loved ones over the next few days... [Children playing together]( {NAME} – As many prepare to gather with loved ones over the next few days, the contrast can feel stark, knowing the hardships that so many children and families are facing around the world right now. Children and families in places like Gaza, Ukraine and Afghanistan are going without warm clothing, shelter or access to medical care this holiday season. To put it simply, many people will not survive the harsh winter months. The IRC is rushing to reach as many people in crisis zones as possible — for example, we're delivering warm blankets, sleeping bags and power banks. We're also distributing heaters, as blackouts and damaged infrastructure make it difficult to keep homes warm. And we're providing cash assistance so that families can immediately access basic supplies. [Please consider making a special one-time gift today to help these efforts. Your donation can bring warmth and comfort to displaced children and families — and will be MATCHED by a generous donor during this holiday season — helping to DOUBLE the humanitarian aid we're able to deliver.]( Millions of families in crisis zones have lost loved ones. Many have been forced to flee their homes and spend the holidays away from the people and places they cherish most. Amidst so much hardship, survival remains their first priority this year. The resilience of these families is inspiring — and they are counting on our support to help them survive, recover and rebuild their lives. During this holiday season, we are especially thankful for you for never forgetting families living through conflict and disasters.
