See how you are helping to provide medical care and rebuild lives for families in crisis zones. [International Rescue Committee logo.]( [Valentyna, 67, a patient of IRC Mobile Medical Unit, during an appointment with Dr. Oleg]( Valentyna, 67, a patient of IRC Mobile Medical Unit, during an appointment with Dr. Oleg. {NAME} – Valentyna lost her son about a year ago in a mine explosion. He was one of many civilian casualties in the ongoing war in Ukraine. Adding to her losses, Valentyna’s home in a rural area in Kharkiv has been shelled three times since the war escalated. She copes with her grief at the loss of her son and for her damaged home by working in her garden and playing with her grandchildren. Valentyna is also a regular patient of the IRC's mobile medical clinic. Thanks to the generosity of people like you, {NAME}, she is able to obtain important medications that have become difficult to access for people living through the heavy fighting. Valentyna also has medical staff check on her leg, which was injured by shrapnel. Since the escalation of the war in Ukraine, the IRC's mobile medical team has become the only option for people like Valentyna as no other medical facilities or professionals continue to operate here. Our mobile medical teams provide medicines and routine care that would not otherwise be accessible to people living outside of major cities. [CONFLICT IN UKRAINE: HOW THE IRC IS RESPONDING »]( In addition to the health support, the IRC is providing financial aid for families, hygiene and other essential items, psychosocial support for women and children, and essential protection services for people affected by the war. Your contributions are what make our support for people like Valentyna possible, {NAME}. We're so grateful for your compassion and generosity. With thanks, — Joanna Joanna Nahroska Senior Global Communications Officer, Ukraine Response International Rescue Committee P.S. Your support ensures the IRC can help people in conflict zones like Ukraine. [If you're able, I would be so grateful if you would consider making a special contribution to support our ongoing humanitarian efforts in Ukraine and other places where people are reeling from crises.]( The International Rescue Committee | [Rescue.org]( 122 East 42nd Street, New York, New York 10168-1289 USA To ensure future delivery of IRC e-mails, please add our reply address updates@rescue.org to your Address Book.
