For the next 48 hours, you can have 3x the impact for children and families in crisis. {NAME} – There's not much time left until we reach our deadline to raise $50,000 for children and families in crisis. I hope you'll review this update on our critical work in Ukraine from my colleague Joanna who’s provided us with updates from the country and [make a 3x matched gift to power our humanitarian response.]( The IRC is working to provide humanitarian aid to children and families in Ukraine and other crisis zones where conflict, hunger and climate emergencies are forcing people to flee their homes. But this work is only possible because of the support of generous people like you. — Hank [From: Joanna @ IRC Ukraine Communications To: {EMAIL} Date: August 23, 2023 Subject: [Ukraine Breaking News] "When you live under constant shelling, you don't feel anything anymore."]( [International Rescue Committee logo.]( BREAKING: INTENSE SHELLING DISPLACES CHILDREN AND FAMILIES IN UKRAINE [TRIPLE YOUR IMPACT FOR CHILDREN AND FAMILIES IN CRISIS >>]( {NAME}, as the war here in Ukraine has no end in sight, its consequences continue to leave many families in horrifying distress. Evacuations are underway in Ukraine's northeastern city of Kupyansk as constant shelling is forcing children and families from their homes. Dozens have arrived at the humanitarian hub in Kharkiv, where my IRC colleagues have been providing evacuees with medical assistance, legal advice, and safe spaces for children. [Please help the IRC provide aid to children and families who have been forced to leave their homes in Ukraine and other crisis zones. For the next 48 hours, you can have 3x the impact to reach people whose lives have been thrown into chaos by conflict and tragedy.]( Many families could only take what fit in their suitcases. Some did not take even the most necessary things as they rushed to leave in fear their homes or cars might come under a barrage of missile strikes. "You know, when you live under constant shelling, you don't feel anything anymore. Anything. Constant sirens, explosions, nights spent in basements... We had to leave." — Inna, 36, who fled Kupyansk with her husband and three children [TRIPLE YOUR IMPACT »]( After surviving intense hostilities last year, Kupyansk's families have seen their hopes of recovery brutally shattered by the constant shelling. My colleagues in Ukraine are assisting women with young children, as well as disabled people who have been unable to flee earlier. Women and men are arriving in Kharkiv visibly distressed, they can no longer live under the bombs. Evacuees tell us they have no idea what tomorrow will bring. While we're already preparing for another harsh winter on the horizon, many are afraid these continued attacks will make it extremely difficult to get through. [Please, make a 3x MATCHED donation today to help us reach our goal to raise $50,000 for children and families in crisis.
