This summer has shown us that climate change is already here. [International Rescue Committee logo.]( We all need to do our part to help refugees experiencing the worst impacts of climate change. [Agree? Support Refugees »]( {NAME} – Here are just a few headlines from the past week: [WAPO: 2023 is on track to be the hottest year on record]( [Reuters: July was world's hottest on record, EU scientists say]( [LA Times: Heat from climate change affected 6.5 billion people in July]( Unfortunately, they're all real. From wildfires to droughts, this summer has shown us with heartbreaking clarity that climate change is no longer a future challenge, it's already here. What doesn't always get covered? Climate change isn't impacting all of us equally. In fact, many of the countries that contribute the least to carbon emissions are experiencing many of the most devastating consequences like extreme drought, failed crops and malnutrition. It's simply not fair. Here at the IRC we are doing whatever we can to right that wrong, providing immediate support during a disaster or crisis like water, food and shelter. We are also supporting communities in preparing and adapting to climate change, like providing supplies to help protect homes against extreme weather and helping farmers grow more drought resistant crops. [See how the IRC helps communities respond to the changing climate here. >>]( It's only possible with the support of generous people like you.
