{NAME}, you can help the IRC to provide critical support for refugees right now. [International Rescue Committee logo.]( Hi {NAME}, before the week comes to a close, I wanted to share an urgent update about the end of Title 42, and what lies ahead for asylum seekers in the United States. While the policy officially ended yesterday, the Biden administration has responded by implementing a new policy that prohibits many from seeking safety in the U.S., effectively adding another asylum ban. As an organization, we are responding to this urgent situation by intensifying our interventions both in Mexico and at the U.S. border. We are on the ground at the border providing hydration kits and support for migrants currently at the border waiting to know what's to come. We also maintain an active presence on both sides of the border, providing shelter through our Phoenix Welcome Center, and providing protective services for women and children in Northern Mexico. Our mission is to uphold the dignity and rights of families and other displaced individuals. {NAME}, we are expanding our support through various means, including cash assistance, legal services, case management, and humanitarian reception. We are committed to doing everything in our power to provide a safe and secure environment for those seeking refuge in the U.S. {NAME}, here's where you come in: - Take action today by writing a letter to the White House demanding the Biden administration rescind the asylum ban and fulfill its legal duty to protect asylum seekers. [Your voice matters »]( - Join us in supporting asylum seekers on both sides of the U.S. southern border by making a donation to IRC. Maria and her family were in Juárez for five months, after traveling to the border from their home country because they couldn't pay extortion fees from local gangs. At the shelter, Maria participated in a women's group, supported by the IRC and funded by the European Union, which provides activities and psychological support.
