Every year the IRC welcomes families who have taken those risks to escape violence and political persecution and seek asylum in the United States. Many of them have endured grueling journeys and must now wait years to find out if they'll be allowed to stay. We're collecting notes of encouragement to share with newly-arrived families during the upcoming holiday season, and we'd love to include one from you. [Just use this link to send your note — it would really mean a lot!](252B69bA2iUCMyB%252FTc06TzLKja870meZdT9Xui6XzxRVT8VMiYk/f4%252Fmad3v6pjEO2n%252B%252BLZpSmTFqQzOeOI9iUTPwgkghv6dR1Yc6jMoKDpRDpY%252FKpXJ5hQcjlVdyYU5CrudLrXh2qn5UKEhqWKEGcY0u%252F26seKq5sNQxcyUZZqwftqWT6s2lQ1MFXoRt5t3C%252F%252BApFkqqy0SGNpWbxHcsxpteG0117H75tjbKG%252Fk%252Fe3tXeyQuM7XeF9bUqy4QbLCaDHKR4y1CA%253D%253D?h=chpq6QGQpjkOffFUQ4d-lAXIGYzh7Z867sUZRygAn0c) [Send Your Note »](252B69bA2iUCMyB%252FTc06TzLKja870meZdT9Xui6XzxRVT8VMiYk/f4%252Fmad3v6pjEO2n%252B%252BLZpSmTFqQzOeOI9iUTPwgkghv6dR1Yc6jMoKDpRDpY%252FKpXJ5hQcjlVdyYU5CrudLrXh2qn5UKEhqWKEGcY0u%252F26seKq5sNQxcyUZZqwftqWT6s2lQ1MFXoRt5t3C%252F%252BApFkqqy0SGNpWbxHcsxpteG0117H75tjbKG%252Fk%252Fe3tXeyQuM7XeF9bUqy4QbLCaDHKR4y1CA%253D%253D?h=chpq6QGQpjkOffFUQ4d-lAXIGYzh7Z867sUZRygAn0c) [Image of refugees in Phoenix, AZ](252B69bA2iUCMyB%252FTc06TzLKja870meZdT9Xui6XzxRVT8VMiYk/f4%252Fmad3v6pjEO2n%252B%252BLZpSmTFqQzOeOI9iUTPwgkghv6dR1Yc6jMoKDpRDpY%252FKpXJ5hQcjlVdyYU5CrudLrXh2qn5UKEhqWKEGcY0u%252F26seKq5sNQxcyUZZqwftqWT6s2lQ1MFXoRt5t3C%252F%252BApFkqqy0SGNpWbxHcsxpteG0117H75tjbKG%252Fk%252Fe3tXeyQuM7XeF9bUqy4QbLCaDHKR4y1CA%253D%253D?h=chpq6QGQpjkOffFUQ4d-lAXIGYzh7Z867sUZRygAn0c) IRC helps connect families to ensure they continue on their journey safely to their sponsor family and provide them with basic legal orientation, in their native language, to be sure they comprehend and are prepared for the complicated process they will follow in gaining asylum. Seeking asylum is a legally protected right under U.S. and international law, but too often asylum seekers are criminalized, mistreated or exploited. The IRC does everything we can to stand up for the rights and dignity of asylum seekers. We provide legal advice, medical care, travel coordination and more to thousands of families who have recently crossed the U.S. border. Right now we want to share some encouragement from our supporters, too. [Sharing a quick kind word is a small gesture of support that can go a long way during a stressful time.
