The U.S. governmentâs funding of gain-of-function experiments in the Wuhan Lab

But, the National Institutes of Healthâs deplorable animal experiments go far beyond bats, China, and COVID. With YOUR tax dollars, the federal government is giving dogs cocaine, infesting beagles with biting flies and ticks, and even cutting off these puppiesâ vocal cords so they canât cry in the lab. Every year, there are more than 40,000 animals locked in federal labs, and the government's white coats typically kill survivors â even the healthy adoptable ones â rather than let taxpayers adopt them, or retire them to sanctuaries. [Will you help the White Coat Waste Project fight to save the lives of lab animal survivors, including dogs like Violet? Please sign our urgent national petition to support Violetâs Law right away.]( [Help save dogs like Violet!]( The House and Senate have re-introduced the bipartisan Violetâs Law (S 707/HR 1465). The bill is named after a hound â named Violet (formerly gov't ID #CEGMBN) â who was saved from a taxpayer-funded lab by our team. [Violet the dog]( When Violet was rescued, she was scared for months â terrified to explore her house or go outside. But, with assistance, Violet learned to embrace her new life, and now enjoys kisses and scratches ⦠NOT being poked and prodded by government white coats. But most animals arenât as fortunate as Violet. Records obtained by the White Coat Waste Project show that the National Institutes of Health and the University of Iowa rounded up more than a dozen abandoned PETS, strapped containers full of hungry sand flies to their skin, and locked the discarded dogs in cages so the flies would eat them alive. The heartless white coats killed and dissected these dogs ... then admitted to our investigators that they destroyed many of the documents describing the experiments. And this is just ONE experiment of many your tax dollars are funding every year! Those animals who are lucky enough to survive these heinous experiments â and wasteful spending â of our government are usually slaughtered and incinerated. Thanks to our work at the White Coat Waste Project, the Department of Veterans Affairs, the Department of Defense, the Food and Drug Administration, and the National Institutes of Health have created some retirement policies for lab animals ⦠but not all federal bureaucrats are on board. [Your signature on this national petition today will help us show Congress overwhelming support from the American people to demand the federal government retire and re-home ALL animals from their cruel and wasteful taxpayer-funded labs.]( [Help save dogs like Violet!]( At the White Coat Waste Project, weâve championed Violetâs Law â the only one of its kind! This legislation would require the U.S. government animal labs to place adoptable animals in loving homes and ensure other survivors are placed in animal sanctuaries. Polls show that 71% of Democrats and 72% of Republicans want to see these animals retired â not killed. And scientific research shows that animals released from labs make great pets. While there is broad bipartisan support for animal retirement, agencies that experiment on animals â including the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, the U.S. Department of Agriculture, and the Environmental Protection Agency have yet to create policies allowing it. Bottom line: government bureaucrats are too lazy to retire survivors like Violet. Itâs easier to just slaughter and burn themâlike garbage. Letâs make them do the right thing! Letâs help animals like Violet to get a second chance at life, and to be freed from sadistic big government white coats. [Please sign the national petition RIGHT AWAY to help the White Coat Waste Project ensure Violetâs Law is passed in the House and Senate ⦠and that innocent animals being harmed and killed by the U.S. government are given a second chance at life.]( Thank you for your support!
