[Tenant Arrested in Rotterdam Building Explosion Investigation] [Tenant Arrested in Rotterdam Building Explosion Investigation]( And Don't Stop There. In case you missed it: Men Freed After Attacking NYPD Cops Allegedly Use Fake Names to Flee to California NEW YORK, NY - Four men who were released without bail after allegedly pummeling NYPD cops outside a Times Square shelter have reportedly left the city for California using fake names to obtain tickets, according to police sources. The men visited a Catholic church in New York, where they provided officials with false names and a fabricated story in order to seek assistance in traveling to California, as per the sources. Following their interaction with the church officials, the men received tickets and departed the city, leaving their exact whereabouts unknown as of Thursday night. The men had been released without bail after being arraigned in Manhattan Criminal Court earlier in the week. According to a source, they were permitted to leave the city, but failure to attend their next court date would result in a warrant being issued. The incident, which unfolded last Saturday outside the Candler Building on W. 42nd St. near Seventh Ave., involved a swarm of people attacking two officers as they attempted to arrest a man in a yellow jacket. The officers sustained scratches, bumps, and bruises during the confrontation. A total of 12 men are believed to have been involved in the assault, with five still being sought by the police. New York City's Lieutenants Benevolent Association president, Lou Turco, expressed little surprise at the men's departure, denouncing the city as a "catch-and-release city." On Thursday, a Manhattan Criminal Court judge ordered one of the suspects, Yohenry Brito, to be held on a $15,000 cash and $50,000 Insurance Company Bond, as he was the only suspect not released without bail. Another suspect, Jandry Barros, was released Thursday night after prosecutors expressed doubt about his involvement in the incident. The Manhattan district attorney's office indicated that there was not sufficient evidence at the time to link Barros to the assault.
