[Kasson Man Sentenced to Over 21 Years in Prison for Fatal Shooting] [Kasson Man Sentenced to Over 21 Years in Prison for Fatal Shooting]( In case you missed it: Tragedy Strikes on Highway 67: Two Killed and Six Injured in Multi-Vehicle Fiery Crash JACKSON COUNTY, Ark. - Arkansas State Police have identified the two individuals who lost their lives in a devastating multi-vehicle collision on Highway 67. Thomas Blevins, 68, of Logan, Ohio, and Terry Lutz, 55, of Somerset, Ohio, both tragically passed away in the incident, according to a report from ASP. The fatal crash report, released on Wednesday, Oct. 4, revealed that the vehicles involved were heading north at the 99-mile marker when smoke from a nearby field fire engulfed all four lanes. This resulted in a chain reaction crash involving 16 vehicles, with all of the vehicles coming to a final rest on or near the north lanes. The crash involved 5 commercial vehicles and 11 passenger cars. In addition to the two fatalities, six others were listed as injured on the report: Alfonso Hernandez, 42, of Los Fresnos, Texas, Greg Redford, 59, of Elkville, Illinois, Sara Guajardo, 39, of Painesville, Ohio, Emma Vosburg, 21, of Newark, Arkansas, Brittany Cricher, 45, of Newark, Arkansas, and Eric Tharp, 42, of Newport, Arkansas. Following the multi-vehicle pileup on the afternoon of Oct. 3, northbound lanes of U.S. Highway 67 near the 226 interchange were temporarily closed. The lanes were reopened shortly before 10 p.m. that night. About three helicopters responded to the scene, with one person being airlifted from the crash site. The investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing. This tragic event serves as a reminder of the importance of staying vigilant on the roads and the devastating consequences that can result from accidents.
