[Republican Ballot] Featured Today [Courtroom showdown: Murder suspect threatened with ankle cuff that administers shocks] [Courtroom showdown: Murder suspect threatened with ankle cuff that administers shocks]( In case you missed it: Tinder disaster: Man's date turns into fiery nightmare MIAMI, Fla.: A 25-year-old woman from Florida has been charged with felony attempted murder for allegedly setting her Tinder date on fire outside a Miami-Dade County hotel. Her date told police that Destiny Lenai Johnson invited him to her hotel at five in the morning after meeting him on Tinder. When he arrived, he said she asked him for money and got upset when he said no; she later turned on him. Johnson was arrested late last month and charged with attempted murder, first-degree arson, and aggravated battery causing great bodily harm, according to local authorities. The alleged attack happened on November 25. Johnson's arrest came after an altercation with her Tinder date at a Holiday Inn Express & Suites in Kendall, Florida. According to the arrest report, Johnson asked him for money to fix her car. Johnson became irate and then allegedly began yelling, "You guys are out to get me." She approached the victim's car with a gallon jug of liquid. According to the arrest report, Johnson started pouring gasoline into the passenger side, where she proceeded to set it on fire with a lighter, causing both of them to catch fire. The victim managed to escape the burning car and sought help at the hotel's front desk. He was subsequently taken to a local hospital for treatment of burns. According to WSVN, Johnson fled the scene but was later found by police, reportedly naked and talking about having blown up a car. In another report, Johnson told police she had been trafficked and asked to perform sexual acts for money, which she declined, but then set the man's car on fire with a gas can. In response to the charges, Johnson pleaded not guilty and is currently incarcerated at the Miami-Dade County's Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center. The court has ordered her not to contact the alleged victim. Her bond is set at $10,000 for each charge. Johnson's next court appearance is scheduled for December 18. An officer from the Miami-Dade County Police Department declined to comment on the case.
