According to police, an unidentified shooter discharged the firearm outside of Rodriguez's residence, with a stray bullet subsequently penetrating the dwelling and hitting the girl. Rodriguez was quickly taken to a local hospital where she succumbed to her injuries, as confirmed by Round Lake Beach police.
