We envision a world where all window shades are automated, for comfort, convenience and to save energy, and our mission is to make “RYSE” synonymous with Smart Shades. Our core technology has been developed and tested over multiple years, and we are on the verge of a retail rollout that will bring our Smart Shade technology to the masses. Why isn’t there a device to convert a manual window shade to an automated shade? This is the question that I found myself pondering when trying to automate my shades in my new apartment many years ago. Like most of us, I didn’t have the budget to spend up to $1,000 per window for automated shades, and wanted to keep the existing shades that I recently installed. I spoke to all the window blind retailers I could find, and after realizing that there was no affordable, DIY, consumer-friendly solution, I decided to create RYSE: the device that makes your manual shades smart. Our products are remarkably simple to install and use - in fact the process of installing the RYSE SmartShade can take less than 5 minutes! You can then control your window shade through the on-device buttons, our mobile application, or your voice. We even offer integrations with leading smart-home systems (Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit), as well as automation options to open and close your shades according to schedules. There is a reason why most consumers have not yet adopted automated shades, and we are breaking down these barriers by offering all of the benefits of expensive motorized shades through affordable, DIY products. We have raised over $8M in equity capital and have been backed by notable VC and celebrity investors. We pitched the first iteration of our product on Dragon’s Den (Canada’s Shark Tank) and received offers from two competing dragons on our terms!
