An update regarding SVB

As a partner to many founders and teams across the startup ecosystem, we’re saddened by recent news about Silicon Valley Bank. Republic’s exposure Republic had limited exposure to SVB and there are no operational consequences for us from this event. Republic does not use Silicon Valley Bank as its escrow provider, meaning funds being raised on Republic and held in escrow, or funds that are ready to be disbursed to issuers, should not be affected. While we can’t speak to where a company raising on Republic may have banking relations, it is our understanding that Republic’s partner escrow provider is not affected. Our escrow provider is a Deposit Insurance Fund member bank, meaning that in addition to FDIC insurance, they have additional insurance protection, should there be further fallout in the interconnected banking ecosystem. Portfolio support We have already reached out to our portfolio companies to offer support and will share more updates as we are able. Looking forward Our funding portal and broker dealer have implemented changes to our due diligence process in light of these recent updates to protect our investors. Offerings currently fundraising must confirm their SVB exposure before offerings can be completed, and SVB exposure will be considered during our due diligence process for future offerings during this time.
