[A Look at the Baylor Chapel Controversy](
[rn-x.png]
Last week, some conservative students and alumni at Baylor University in Waco, Texas, went public with their disapproval of sentiments shared by guest speaker Kaitlin Curtice. Curtice spoke at Baylorâs chapel service about the fight against white supremacy, equality for women and rights for indigenous people groups in the United States.
Curtice is an author, poet and citizen of the Potawatomi Citizen Band Nation. During her speech, Curtice discussed the genocide and displacement faced by her indigenous ancestors.
The chief complaint seemed to be their claim that Curtice addressed her opening prayer to âMother Mystery.â As the YCT posted online: âAs Christians, we donât pray to âMother Mystery.â We believe in âone God, the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and of all things visible and invisible. And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the Only-begotten, begotten of the Father before all agesâ¦.ââ âI mean, she didnât pray to God and thatâs whatâs most offensive,â Jake Neidert of the Baylor Young Conservatives of Texas told reporters.
However, RELEVANT has received audio of all three chapel services from that morning and can independently verify that there no mention of âMother Mysteryâ in her prayer or any part of her speech. When reaching out for comment over Twitter prior to receiving the audio, the Baylor Young Conservatives of Texas told RELEVANT that they stood by their allegations adding, âIf she did not say that, we would apologize for specifically highlighting that, but it was only one of many problems.â

[⢠Rich Wilkerson Jr. Forgave the People Who Stole His Car and Offered Them an Internship at His Church](
Last week, Vous Church pastor Rich Wilkerson Jr. had his car stolen. Fortunately, it was found a few days later, but in an Instagram video Wilkerson addressed the individuals who stole his car (who have not been caught) and offered his forgiveness. He also invited them to church and even offered them a three-month internship.
"Whoever you are that took our car, we think thereâs about three of you,â Wilkerson said. âI want to let you know, âWe love you, weâre for you and thank you for leaving it somewhere that we could find itâ ⦠I want you to come to Vous Church. And if you come to the 10 or 12:15 service, come to the front afterward and just say, âHey, I was the one that Rich was challenging. I was a part of that incident.ââ
Wilkerson said that he forgives the three individuals and said that he wouldnât be pressing charges.

[⢠The Enneagram Question We All Need to Stop Asking](
The gift of the Enneagram is hindered when we fixate on solidifying our own type and have to know others' types. The Enneagram is a journey of self-discovery and spiritual growth. Itâs not some âfun factâ to whip out at a party. Guessing other peopleâs type is a game that could actually be more harmful than helpful. Hereâs why.
[⢠âDoubtingâ Thomas Had Questions ⦠Just Like You](
One of the biggest lies facing the Church today is that to have faith we must never ask for revelation or wisdom. Questions donât have to be a hindrance to our faith. They can be a catalyst! Questions can be the very thing God uses to show us who He is.
This week, we look at what âdoubtingâ Thomas of the New Testament can teach us about asking big questionsâand how true faith isnât simply the absence of doubt.
