Well, well, well-what do we have here? Rachel Vindman, wife of the man who helped drag Trump through a baseless impeachment, mocking the now second attempted assassination of a former president. That's right, folks, Rachel took to social media on Sunday to make light of Donald Trump actually being shot at-by a crazed Ukraine-obsessed Democrat, no less-joking, "No ears were harmed. Carry on with your Sunday afternoon." Really? This is the state of discourse now? Let's recap: Trump was nearly killed two months ago when a bullet grazed his ear, and now he's facing another assassination attempt. And what's Rachel's response? To laugh it off like it's some punchline. "Sorry you're triggered. I mean no I'm not. I don't care a little bit," she added, not even pretending to hide her contempt. This is coming from the wife of Alexander Vindman-the man who kicked off Trump's impeachment circus over a phone call. You remember the guy who was portrayed as a nonpartisan hero, only to reveal himself as a raging partisan hack later. Looks like the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. And get this-the [would-be assassin]( on Sunday got within 500 yards of Trump with a scoped rifle. How does that happen after two attempts on his life? Apparently, since Trump's just a presidential candidate now and not the sitting president, the Secret Service can only protect him so much. Yeah, because the guy leading the GOP primary deserves less protection. Makes total sense, right? Meanwhile, Alexander Vindman, ever the Twitter warrior, decided to blame Trump for his own near-assassinations. That's right-according to Vindman, Trump's rhetoric is the real problem here. Forget the fact that Trump was almost murdered. Vindman can't resist playing the blame game, claiming Trump's words somehow invite this kind of violence. Funny, no one seems to be aiming rifles at Biden or Harris, but somehow Trump keeps finding himself in the crosshairs. But the hypocrisy doesn't stop there. Eugene Vindman, Alexander's twin and now a Democratic congressional candidate, issued a lukewarm statement condemning political violence-without mentioning Trump by name, of course. Can't risk alienating the far-left, right? Meanwhile, Trump's campaign manager called for Rachel Vindman's comments to be condemned. Alexander Vindman's response? To condemn Trump and his team. You can't make this stuff up. Eugene Vindman's running in Virginia's 7th district was once a stronghold for Republicans like Eric Cantor. But here's the thing: this district has a history of preferring more centrist figures. The Vindman family's conduct is anything but centrist. They've made it clear that their loyalties lie not just with their party but with Ukraine-a cause that's front and center in Eugene's campaign. Sure, supporting Ukraine is one thing, but when your whole platform revolves around it while your wife mocks an attempted assassination on a former president? It's a bad look. [The Vindmans]( are part of a broader issue Trump has been warning us about for years: the so-called "deep state" actively undermining his agenda. These career bureaucrats, cast as neutral civil servants, have shown their true colors. Now, Eugene is running on a platform to protect those very same bureaucrats from Trump's proposed "Schedule F" reforms, which would allow a president to fire government employees who openly defy the administration. Heaven forbid we hold the federal government accountable, right? Derrick Anderson, Vindman's opponent, posted on X that "Violence against any elected official should never be celebrated or dismissed. This is now the second assassination attempt on former President Trump in a few weeks. Our country needs to continue to work to come together, as one, and be united against the challenges we face both at home and abroad. My opponent, @YVindman, has called for lowering the political temperature of this country - so will he denounce these terrible statements from his family member and supporter?" Virginia's 7th district deserves better than a candidate whose family mocks political violence and who can't bring himself to fully condemn an assassination attempt. The district has a choice between a Republican who stands for America First principles or a candidate whose focus seems more on Ukraine and protecting the swamp. And judging by the Vindmans' antics, it's pretty clear where their priorities lie.
