Well, here we go again-Vice President [Kamala Harris](, master of the dodge-and-weave routine, sidestepped one of the most straightforward questions at the presidential debate on Tuesday night. ABC News moderator David Muir dared to ask the million-dollar question: "Are Americans better off now, after nearly four years of the Biden-Harris administration, or were they better off under former President Donald Trump?" A fair question, right? One that you'd expect the sitting vice president to answer directly. But nope! Harris was off to the races, deflecting with a trip down memory lane about her childhood and middle-class dreams. Instead of answering the question-a yes or no would've sufficed-she dove into vague platitudes about ambition and aspirations. You know, the kind of fluff that sounds nice but leaves everyone scratching their heads. Sure, we got a lot of "I believe in the American dream," but not a peep on whether the Biden-Harris administration has made anyone's dream a reality. Let's be honest, that question wasn't exactly a curveball. If they've done such a stellar job, why couldn't she just say, "Yeah, Americans are better off today"? Spoiler alert: Because she can't. Harris then threw out a few misleading lines about Trump's economic agenda, because why not distract from the current mess by pointing fingers at the past? It's a classic play from this administration's handbook: when in doubt, blame Trump. Vice President Kamala Harris is asked if Americans are better off now than they were under former President Donald Trump. She did NOT answer the question and lied about Trump's economic plan. David Muir failed to note that Harris did not answer the question. But why address the facts when you can rely on nostalgia and sweeping generalizations? JUST IN: Robert F. Kennedy Jr. shreds ABC News moderators for ganging up on Trump during the debate and for refusing to fact-check Kamala Harris. "We had moderators who were clearly biased, who were constantly fact-checking Donald Trump." "But none of these kind of whoppers... [pic.twitter.com/cNAg3kRzJu]( - Collin Rugg (@CollinRugg) [September 11, 2024]( This debate moment wasn't just about dodging a question; it was about dodging responsibility. Instead of giving the American people a straight answer, Harris chose storytelling over substance. And that, folks, says a lot.
