Ladies and gentlemen, it looks like the Secret Service is once again in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons. At least five agents have been placed on administrative leave following what can only be described as a catastrophic failure that nearly led to the unthinkable-the assassination of former President Donald Trump at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, on July 13. The situation is so alarming that it has raised serious questions about whether this was a colossal lapse in judgment or something far more sinister. Among those facing possible disciplinary action are a member of Trump's personal protective detail and four agents from the Pittsburgh Field Office, including the special agent in charge. Shockingly, one of these agents was also the event coordinator, which begs the question: how on earth did things go so disastrously wrong? If you were to imagine a scenario designed to create the perfect opportunity for an assassin, you'd be hard-pressed to come up with something more egregious than what actually happened. The lack of coordination between the Secret Service and local law enforcement was just the tip of the iceberg. A counter-sniper team was thrown into the mix at the last minute, with no time to conduct a proper site survey. And incredibly, a building with a clear line of sight to Trump's podium was left unsecured. To top it all off, the Secret Service and local authorities weren't even on the same communication devices, and there was no consolidated command center. It's almost as if the pieces were intentionally set in place to create a perfect storm. Secret Service Agents put on leave, NOT FIRED. Read between the lines. They are on vacation on the American tax payers dime for incompetence or actual planning of an assassination of a president. You tell me if I'm wrong. [pic.twitter.com/b29ppokbh2]( - Futurist? (@americasgreat) [August 23, 2024]( The fallout has been swift-Secret Service Director Kim Cheadle resigned after an excruciating hearing where she struggled to answer basic questions. But the resignation alone doesn't solve the problem. If the Secret Service, an agency tasked with protecting the nation's highest officials, cannot perform its duties in a professional manner, then we're all left wondering: what exactly is going on? BREAKING: Multiple Secret Service agents put on leave during investigation into Trump assassination. [pic.twitter.com/rolsPLGTCL]( - MSNBC (@MSNBC) [August 23, 2024]( This isn't just about a few agents taking the fall. If this [investigation]( stops at the Pittsburgh Field Office, it's hard not to see it as anything other than a coverup. The real decisions were made far above the heads of those agents, and if a massive shakeup doesn't happen at the top, Congress must step in. Anything less would be an insult to the gravity of what nearly transpired and a disservice to the American people.
