Hello everyone, let's dive into the latest developments from the campaign trail, where the contrast between former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris couldn't be more glaring. Trump took center stage on Thursday at Mar-a-Lago, fielding all sorts of questions from the media with his usual flair. Meanwhile, his opponent, Kamala Harris, who was suddenly swapped in as the Democratic nominee after Joe Biden was unceremoniously pushed aside, has been conspicuously avoiding the press. Trump's running mate, JD Vance, made this point crystal clear in a mic-drop moment on Wednesday. As Harris's plane touched down in Wisconsin, Vance strolled over to the reporters waiting by her plane and cheekily commented that he knew they'd be lonely since Harris wouldn't be answering any questions. Talk about driving the point home. The difference in approach was on full display Thursday as Harris and her running mate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, attended a union event in Michigan. To put it bluntly, it wasn't Harris's finest hour. She delivered a series of bizarre remarks that left many scratching their heads. At one point, Harris spoke about a "perversion" in the country over the past several years. Now, she's not wrong about that-there's been a perversion, alright, one that the Biden-Harris administration has helped along. From the inability to define basic concepts like gender to undermining the foundations of our constitutional republic, this administration has fostered a lot of troubling trends. KAMALA: "There's some perversion that's happened in our country in the last several years..." "We believe in the collective," she said, arguing that strength doesn't come from individualism. Hold on a second, Kamala. Our nation's strength comes from the rule of law under the Constitution, which protects individual rights from the tyranny of the collective or the government. This kind of rhetoric sounds a lot like something straight out of Karl Marx's playbook. KAMALA HARRIS: "We believe in the collective!" [pic.twitter.com/xW3G6vLZSl]( - Townhall.com (@townhallcom) [August 8, 2024]( And as if that wasn't enough, she launched into one of her infamous word salads. "You know the one thing about all of us? Is we like hard work. Hard work is good work. Hard work is good work. The thing that we like about hard work is we have fun doing hard work!" she exclaimed, leaving everyone wondering what on earth she was trying to say. KAMALA HARRIS (with the accent): "Hard work is good work...! We have fun doin' hard work!" [pic.twitter.com/mo5L18QgY0]( - Townhall.com (@townhallcom) [August 8, 2024]( It's a bit rich coming from someone whose boss, Joe Biden, just wrapped up another week of barely any public appearances. One meeting with Americans returning from Russia, a phone call with the King of Jordan, and a taped TV interview-that's what Biden's week looked like before he headed off to Delaware for more downtime. Meanwhile, we're all still trying to figure out what exactly Harris has accomplished during her time as Vice President. And, of course, [Harris]( ended her remarks without taking any questions, proving Trump and Vance's point. If she's too afraid even to do an interview with friendly media, how can she possibly handle the responsibilities of the presidency or deal with hostile world leaders? We've already seen how she manages-or fails to manage-her current role. It's hard to imagine that things would improve under her leadership. In fact, they'd probably get worse.
