When A.G. Holder established this organization, the goal was to support fair maps that help enfranchise more Americans and uphold American democracy. We’ve had great success: this redistricting cycle has been the fairest in a generation in some states. And we’re continuing to fight in states that have ongoing redistricting battles. But what’s the point of pushing for fair maps if the voters aren’t able to utilize their right to vote? [That’s why we’re so excited to announce that we’re partnering with Power the Polls.]( For the 2022 midterms, we’ll be pushing to recruit poll workers and staffing the polls with supporters of free and fair elections. [On Tuesday August 16, for Poll Worker Recruitment Day, we will be hosting an event to support the work of Power the Polls. We’ll celebrate such an important day and discuss the need for poll workers to safeguard free elections. You won’t want to miss out on this, RSVP now!]( [RSVP]( After the 2020 election cycle, we saw a violent insurrection that sought to stop the certification of the federal level results. We saw a variety of far-right public officials deny that President Biden won the election. We saw angry mobs protesting at polling centers in Arizona, demanding that they “Stop the Steal.” We can only imagine the far-right will ramp up their assault on American democracy and basic freedoms for the midterms. If they’re going to mobilize to undermine these elections, then we have to mobilize to protect these elections. [So, RSVP for our upcoming event with Power the Polls.
