Last week, Amazon deleted the profiles of entry-level warehouse workers from an internal directory. The company says it did this to streamline an app that warehouse workers use on a daily basis. Several workers, however, say this is just another union-busting strategy from Amazon management. "It [feels like] a way to reduce and limit the amount of information employees can get about other employees," a former warehouse manager told Recode about the update. Put differently, if warehouse workers needed a way to get in touch with the peers about anything from workplace conditions to a union vote itself, that ability is now gone. Recode's Jason Del Rey broke the story and explains what it means for Amazon's frontline workers.
