He’s merging two content companies and launching a streaming service. How’s that going? [One Speaker 660 x 660.png]( Hi, Last December, when CBS and Viacom finalized their long-anticipated merger, newly appointed [CEO Robert Bakish announced](: “We are hitting the ground running in 2020.” 2020 turned out to be … well … you know. But Bakish still has big plans. After a year of [executive reshuffling](, ViacomCBS will rebrand CBS All Access as [Paramount Plus]( early next year. The latest entrant into the streaming wars will supplement CBS’s current offerings with Viacom’s IP library, which includes Comedy Central, Nickelodeon, MTV, BET, and the Gen Z-focused AwesomenessTV. Paramount Plus is a latecomer after two years of streaming service launches, so we’ll ask Bakish what he’s learned from observing other launches, how Paramount Plus plans to compete in the crowded streaming market, and how he’s navigating the second merger of CBS and Viacom. On Nov. 11, join Recode’s Peter Kafka live and ask Bakish some questions of your own at Code Media@Home. This complimentary virtual event series is made possible by dentsu.
