In this trade I was selling shorts for two options contracts on the QQQ with a 7 day expiration date contract essentially hoping that it stays above the price of $395 over the course of the next week. The reason I decided to sell shorts was because of the slow start the market had to the start of 2024. I thought for sure the market wouldn’t stay the way it would so that’s when I pulled the trigger. At first the stock dipped even more to around the price of $395. At this point I was down $100 however, instead of panicking and selling, I decided to wait a few more days. Sure enough, the market went in my favor and 4 trading days later the QQQ’s reached the price of $402 and I made a whopping $166.” I have to admit I thought he would be a little more emotional about going down then up then down and up 🎢! I mean, that’s a LOT of Taco Bell hours! But he was pretty cool headed, I have to say. When he’s not providing killer service at Taco Bell, he’s killing it in the Market (well, one trade in that is!) I’m proud of him, but he is not yet getting the itch to be a full-time trader which is fine by me… I really don’t wish that life on anybody! He’s got a few more years of college to finish as well as a budding music career so we will see how he is able to weave trading into his life in a healthy manner… But I agree with Charlie, hopefully this is a game-changer for him!
