[JBP Momentum Stocks] Hey there! So, youâve embraced the world of âPrivate Investingââ¦now what??? Maybe youâre a seasoned investor and know your way around the private equity markets. If thatâs the case, youâre in rare company. Since the passing of the JOBS act in 2016, there has been a flood of new investors who are adding private equity investing to their portfolios. With this new access, there are also a lot of unknowns. So many legit, unanswered questions that new investors have, like â what should I expect after I invest? Will I get stock certificates? What happens if there is an exit or a company IPOs? I hear these types of questions all the time, and that is a big reason I have been working so hard on education with our Boardroom members. (Did I mention that all of the resources, events and education we provide are all at no cost for you?! ) I learned the hard way about many of the pitfalls that come along with private investing. I completely understand how difficult it can be to navigate this space without any help. [image] If nothing else, I hope you can learn from some of my past mistakes and avoid them when it comes to your own investing! Like most forms of trading, it is very easy to get started⦠but there hasnât been a lot of education and communication on what happens after you invest. If Iâm being honest, one of the things that really can be frustrating is that most portals (these are like the âbrokersâ if you are familiar with stock trading) make investing easy but then have very little concern for you after that. To be fair, most of these platforms give the appearance that they are a âbig deal,â but they are really startups themselves. So, I will give them some grace⦠but not much! The follow-up education and learning about your options after the investment is another big reason we started up Boardroom Investing. Finally, one of the biggest things that I think we need to see more of is better founder communication. Now, I understand that most of these founders wear multiple hats, and they hit the ground running. As an investor, this is a great thing. I think you want to see a CEO working long hours when you entrust them with your hard-earned money! But, as an investor, it can be hard to know whatâs happening in these companies. That is why I strongly encourage founders to share updates along their journeyâ the good, of course â but also the struggles and pivots that happen along the way. And as a part of the Boardroom, you can bet that we hold CEOs accountable and have regular updates from them on how their companies are progressing â and you are going to get amazing access to all of it. [image] That reminds me⦠in my last email I promised you that I would share the details of an exciting startup that we are looking at! We should have everything buttoned up on our end in the next few days and be sending all the information on them shortly. This way of course, you can dive in and begin your due diligence process. So keep an eye on your inbox for the next update here. That's the wrap for this issue â we are cheering you on and wishing you much success in your investing journey! The Boardroom Investing Team *P.S. â Donât forget to hit reply on this email and send us any burning questions you might have about the world of private investing. Looking forward to hearing from you. Have a great day!
