My Stock Is Splitting, What Happens To My Options?

Now, if you’ve been following AAPL then you know that it’s shares are set to split. That means shares will be adjusted 4 to 1. Shares of the stock closed at $499.23. If you divide that by 4 then you’ll see shares be at $124.80. Your one share will be converted to four. But what happens to the options? The options will get adjusted. And a new series of option contracts will be created to reflect the stock split. In terms of taking any action, you won’t have to do anything. Both series of options will trade. For example, last month, Office Depot announced a 1 to 10 reverse split. In this case, the stock went from the $2s to $20s...and every ten shares you had got converted to one. There is an October series that trades with the stock split adjustment. And another pre-stock split. So when you come in on Monday, just be aware of what the changes are.
