for Aviation American Gin. The same Aviation that Ryan Reynolds of 'Deadpool' and Blake Lively fame

[The beef 675] [I'm an image] “That’s showbiz baby.” - Jason Hey there carnivores, Markets were mixed on Monday as tech led the charge. Today we’re discussing Diageo’s foray into Hollywood. Keep raging, Jeff & Jason [Image] [I'm an image] Last call Aside from 'Green Lantern,' it seems Ryan Reynolds can’t miss. Diageo is going all-in on gin, agreeing to pay around [$610M]( for Aviation American Gin. The same Aviation that Ryan Reynolds of 'Deadpool' and Blake Lively fame owns a stake of. The stake is undisclosed, but let’s be real, the dude's face is plastered on the delivery trucks, so it’s probably a decent share. Diageo is ponying up for the opportunity, offering an initial payment of $335M to Aviation, with the opportunity for Reynolds and Co. to earn another $275M over the next 10 years depending on the brand's performance. The deal will close by the end of the year if everything goes according to plan. And if 2020 has taught us anything it's that everything goes according to plan... So, what's included? Diageo gets Davos Brands LLC, the distributor of Aviation and some other, less Ryan Reynolds-backed, brands of liquor. Reynolds has been involved with Aviation since 2018 and will continue to retain an interest in the brand after the deal’s done. You can’t blame Diageo. Aviation saw sales jump from about $20M in 2018 to about $40M in 2019. That’s what they call in the business “hockey stick growth.” The bottom line... Diageo is clearly [not afraid]( to work with celebrities on branded liquors. In 2007, it worked with P. Diddy (or whatever the f*ck he calls himself now) to create [Ciroc.]( In 2017, it shelled out around $700M to buy George Clooney’s Casamigos. It’s also worked with David Beckham on Haig Club whiskey. Premium gins, in general, have had themselves a year, as millennials seek to drown out 2020. The segment more than doubled its share of the overall gin category between 2014 and 2019, making it the fastest-growing spirit type in the US. [Image] [Alternate text]( [I'm an image] ☑️ Steal from the rich. Robinhood [landed a Series G round](, its third cash injection in five months. Which is impressive considering the unlimited leverage glitch debacle. The $200M cash haul brought its valuation from $8.6B to $11.2B. The go-to investment app for day traders with an advance on their allowance everywhere has seen a major increase in customer account growth, having added 3M new accounts YTD. And even though it's advertised as ‘fee-free trading’, Robinhood has managed to roughly double the money it brings in from customer trades between Q2 and Q1 of this year. Thanks Davey Day Trader! ☑️ Expanding out of the lower 48. Chevron and the Iraqi government [have been in talks]( about the American oil company going HAM on one of Iraq’s largest oil fields. There are tentative plans for Chevron to invest hundreds of millions of dollars into the field, which would allow it to drill into its estimated 4.4B barrels of crude. What could possibly go wrong? [Back in the US](, the Trump administration has signed off on an oil leasing program in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, which will allow oil companies to drill in the 19M wilderness for the first time in history. Several banks, such as Goldman and Wells, have already ruled out funding for Arctic drilling projects. Wells on the right side of history for once. ☑️ What a start to the week. Tesla definitely did not have [a case of the Mondays.]( [$TSLA rose 11.20%]( during trading, closing at its all-time high (for now) of $1,835.64. This brings its YTD gain to 339%. It’s $324B valuation makes it more valuable than P&G, and has its eyes on surpassing Walmart. “S my D, P&G.” - Elon, probably. The rally has been, umm, fueled, as of late, by anticipation that it will be added to the S&P 500 Index. It met requirements to do so last quarter by reporting a profit for the fourth straight quarter. Investors are also expecting an increase in stock demand once the company completes its 5 to 1 stock split, which will make $TSLA more accessible to broke boiz. ☑️ Bonjour. French pharma Sanofi [will acquire Principia Biopharma]( for $3.68B. The purchase falls in line with Sanofi’s shift from mass-market medicines to medicines for rare diseases and cancer, as Principia is developing a treatment for MS. The MS medicine just moved to its Phase 3 trial in June after posting encouraging Phase 2 results. Yeah, but can it cure COVID? Additionally, Principia has been developing and testing a therapy for a rare autoimmune disease called pemphigus, which is currently in its Phase 3 trials.
