Dear Reader, When editor David Cross was a child, his father stood in the local election in his home

[Image]( [SMOKE SIGNALS?]( Dear Reader, When [WealthWise]( editor David Cross was a child, his father stood in the local election in his hometown. About 23 years later David also stood as a candidate, but this time in the United Kingdom parliamentary election (yes, the exact same thing that just went down in the UK this past week). Neither man was elected into politics, but that didn’t stop either of them from success. Both men continued to serve through various charitable and philanthropic work, and through successful careers. Both father and son experienced the sting of defeat and the joy of success. Every guest on WealthWise has at some point suffered failures and setbacks in their lives. But each person picked themselves up and got back on the horse. The RagingBull.com traders we’ve interviewed all experienced times when they had their asses handed to them while learning to trade. You can hear their stories on their perspective WealthWise interview: - [Jeff Bishop]( who got fired for trading while at work - [Jason Bond]( who dug himself out of $250,000 in debt through trading (helped out by collecting soda cans to pay off his debts faster!) - [Nathan Bear]( who “blew up” three trading accounts and almost gave up trading altogether and; - [Kyle Dennis]( who lost as much as $50,000–in a single day’s trading! Every one of them got knocked back again and again but each one of them got back up and tried again. And again… “Smooth markets never made a skilled trader” – or something very similar. And so if you’re feeling that the markets got the better of you, take comfort in the fact that some really good traders took the same path you may be on right now. They persisted and won through the odds. Stick with it, and take inspiration from any of the episodes I shared above with [Jeff]( [Kyle]( [Jason]( and [Nate](.
